While our program is fast-paced and intensive, our instructors are committed to helping each student rise to the challenge. You'll be expected to take ownership of your learning, stay focused, and give your best effort every single day.

Our goal is to equip you with the skills you need in the ever-expanding equine industry. We put forth a lot of effort and hard work, and we expect our students to do the same. With a low ratio of students per instructor, we are absolutely focused on the quality of the work which you turn out on every job. Come prepared to work.

What you can expect:

- Hands-On Training with Live Horses

All practical instruction is done exclusively on live horses, giving students authentic, hands-on experience.

- 24/7 Shoeing Barn Access

Students have round-the-clock access to the shoeing barn, along with steel and propane provided for forging practice and completing assignments.

- Certified Instructors

Learn from experienced instructors certified by the American Farrier's Association as Certified Farriers (CF) and Certified Journeyman Farriers (CJF).

- Free Room & Board

We offer free on-campus housing as a benefit to all enrolled students. While living in the dormitories is not required, students are welcome to take advantage of this opportunity if it best suits their needs. Housing is considered a privilege and is available as long as students remain in good standing with the school. Separate accommodations are provided for male and female students.

- Complimentary Meals

We provide free continental breakfast and lunch every Monday through Friday.

- Lifetime Discount at Purcell Farrier Supply

All students and graduates receive a 10% lifetime discount at our on-site store, Purcell Farrier Supply - your go-to resource for professional farrier tools and supplies.

1 – Week Continuing Education for OHS Grads – $800.00
2 – Week Basic Horseshoeing Course – $2,500.00
8 – Week Professional Horseshoeing Course – $6,100.00
12 – Week Advanced Horseshoeing & Blacksmithing Course – $8,500.00

Founded in the summer of 1973, Oklahoma Horseshoeing School was established with one clear goal: to put a valuable, high-earning trade within your reach.

Since then, we've proudly trained students from across the United States and around the world—including Australia, Canada, Croatia, Curaçao, Mexico, and South Korea. Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, including doctors, news videographers, nuclear physicists, and teachers. Regardless of where you're from or what you've done before, we're here to help you succeed.

Our curriculum is built from the ground up. We don't expect students to come in with any prior experience. Whether you're completely new to horseshoeing or starting over in a new career, we will teach you everything you need to know—step by step.

Many of our graduates go on to build successful, self-employed careers doing work they're passionate about. With the right investment in education and tools, Oklahoma Horseshoeing School can be your starting point to owning your own business and forging a future in the equine industry.

In the summer of 1973, The Oklahoma Horseshoeing School was founded to place a trade within your reach which has great earning potential. Since its beginning, the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School has trained men and women from all areas of the world. Most Oklahoma Horseshoeing School graduates go on to become gainfully self-employed in the horse industry. With an investment in equipment and education at Oklahoma Horseshoeing School, you can be a successful business owner, doing the work you enjoy most.

Oklahoma Horseshoeing School offers FREE Continental Breakfast and Lunch Monday through Friday

We begin a small group of students each and every Monday of the year. This always provides us with advanced students to shoe the corrective and problem jobs which come into our shop for corrective shoeing.
